Twaddell Hydrometer

Twaddell Hydrometer
TWADDELL HYDROMETER
An instrument used to determine the specific gravity of liquids, sizes, etc. The stem is graduated and instruments are supplied in sets of six. No. 1 registering 1 to 24, No. 2, 25 to 48, and so on. Degrees Twaddell are changed into specific gravity by the formula (Tw. X 0.005) + 1. Thus if a size mixing gives a Twaddell reading of 28 deg. the specific gravity is (28 x 0.005) + 1 = 0.14 + 1 = 1.14 s.g.
